1. Services Provided

Glimmer Counseling offers therapeutic counseling services, including individual therapy, family therapy, and support for diverse racial, gender, and neurologic identities. Services are provided in accordance with professional social work ethical standards and in compliance with applicable laws.

Our Website offers information about our services, provides resources for clients, and allows for scheduling appointments, contacting us, and other related activities.

2. Use of the Website

By accessing and using the Website, you agree to the following:

  • Lawful Use: You agree to use the Website only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.

  • Accuracy of Information: You agree to provide accurate and complete information when using our services (e.g., scheduling, intake forms, etc.). You are responsible for ensuring that all information submitted is truthful and up-to-date.

  • Prohibited Conduct: You agree not to engage in any of the following activities:

    • Violating any applicable local, state, or federal laws;

    • Disrupting or interfering with the functioning of the Website or the services we offer;

    • Attempting to hack, disrupt, or damage any part of the Website or related systems.

3. Client Agreement and Confidentiality

  • Therapeutic Services: If you are seeking therapy or counseling services, you agree that any services provided are subject to the therapeutic relationship, and the treatment will be conducted in a professional, confidential manner.

  • Confidentiality: We take confidentiality seriously and follow the legal and ethical standards for privacy and confidentiality. However, there are exceptions to confidentiality, such as risk of harm to yourself or others, or as required by law. These exceptions will be discussed with you in the context of therapy.

  • HIPAA Compliance: Glimmer Counseling adheres to the standards set forth by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) for the protection of your health information. Please see our Privacy Policy for more details.

4. Appointment Scheduling and Cancellations

  • Appointment Scheduling: You may schedule appointments through your therapy portal or by contacting us directly via text message, phone call, or email. By scheduling, you agree to attend the session at the agreed-upon time.

  • Cancellations: We ask that you provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice may result in a $50 cancellation fee, as outlined in our Cancellation Policy.

  • No Show Policy: Clients who fail to attend their scheduled appointments without prior notice may be subject to additional fees or limitations on future appointments. If an appointment is no showed that client may be subjected to a $50 no show fee as outlined in our Cancellation Policy.

5. Fees and Payment

  • Payment for Services: Payment for counseling services may be required at the time of service or as outlined in your agreement. Accepted forms of payment include insurance, cash, credit, and check.

  • Insurance: We accept certain insurance providers. It is the client's responsibility to confirm their insurance coverage before receiving services. Please review our Insurance and Payment page for more information.

  • Billing: Clients will be billed according to the agreed-upon fee schedule, and payment is due at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made in advance.

6. Limitations of Liability

  • No Guarantee of Results: While we strive to provide high-quality therapeutic services, we cannot guarantee specific results, as therapeutic progress depends on numerous factors, including the client’s level of engagement and external circumstances.

  • No Medical or Psychological Emergency Services: Our services are not intended for immediate, crisis, or emergency situations. If you are experiencing an emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

7. Intellectual Property

  • Ownership: All content on the Website, including text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of Glimmer Counseling or its licensors and is protected by copyright laws.

  • Limited License: You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Website for personal use. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any content from the Website without our express written consent.

8. Privacy and Data Collection
