Individual Therapy
In Individual Therapy at Glimmer Counseling, we prioritize a collaborative, empowering approach where you are the expert on your own life. We understand that the traditional power dynamic in therapy can feel intimidating, so we actively work to eliminate that difference. Your therapist is here to listen, guide, and support you—not to direct or judge. By building a safe, open space where your voice is always respected and valued, we can work together to explore your challenges, uncover your strengths, and create lasting change. Whether you’re navigating mental health struggles, personal growth, or identity exploration, we’re here to walk beside you on your journey, with empathy, respect, and a deep commitment to your autonomy.

Trauma Therapy
At Glimmer Counseling, we offer EMDR therapy with an intersectional approach, recognizing that trauma is deeply connected to the unique intersections of your identity—whether that’s race, gender, neurodivergence, or other aspects of who you are. Trauma is not just an event; it’s shaped by the ways societal systems affect and marginalize different identities.
By integrating an intersectional lens, we ensure that your healing process honors all parts of your experience. Our goal is to make EMDR therapy not just about symptom relief, but about empowering you to reclaim your story and heal holistically, with respect for your identity and the unique challenges you face.

Youth and Family Therapy
At Glimmer Counseling, we believe that healing should involve the client’s support system. Our Youth and Family Therapy services are designed to support both youth and their families in navigating challenges together. Whether it's managing behavioral issues, improving communication, or processing trauma, we work collaboratively with both the child and their caregivers to build stronger, healthier relationships. Using a trauma-informed, intersectional approach, we focus on understanding the unique dynamics of your family, including how cultural, racial, and biological factors influence your child's experience. Together, we can help your family grow in connection, understanding, and resilience.
Paying for Services
At Glimmer Counseling, we are committed to providing transparent and accessible services. Below are the terms and conditions regarding payments for the services we offer:
-
Therapy Sessions: Our therapy services are billed at an hourly rate per 53 minute session. The exact rate will be provided to you prior to your intake session.
Sliding Scale: We offer a sliding scale for clients experiencing financial hardship. If you would like to discuss sliding scale options, please contact us directly to see if you qualify.
-
We accept the following forms of payment for services:
Credit/Debit Cards: We accept most major credit and debit cards, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.
Health Savings Accounts (HSA)/Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA): Payments may also be made using HSA or FSA cards.
Insurance: If your insurance covers therapy services and we are in network with your insurer, we will assist with billing through your provider. You will be responsible for any co-pays, co-insurance, or out-of-pocket expenses.
-
Insurance Coverage: Glimmer Counseling accepts several insurance plans. It is your responsibility to verify your coverage with your insurance provider before your first session. Please contact your insurance company to confirm the details of your mental health coverage, including co-pays and deductibles.
Out-of-Network: If we are not in-network with your insurance provider, we can provide a receipt (superbill) for out-of-network reimbursement. You may be able to submit this to your insurer for partial reimbursement, depending on your plan.
-
Outstanding Balances: If a balance is left unpaid, we may be forced to suspend or discontinue services until the balance is settled or a payment plan has been created. You will be notified if any outstanding balance exists.
Collection of Debt: If a balance remains unpaid for more than 60 days, we reserve the right to send the debt to a collections agency, and any associated fees will be your responsibility.
-
Cancellations: We ask that you provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance may be subject to a cancellation fee of $50 at the therapist’s discretion.
No-Show Policy: If you miss an appointment without notifying us in advance, you will be charged for the full session fee. We understand emergencies happen, and we will handle these situations on a case-by-case basis.
